Geeks Discount Outlet - Computer Geeks
is the place to shop for barebone computers and
parts at rock-bottom prices, making it a great
store for -- well -- computer geeks! Complete
pre-built systems, mostly refurbished or surplus,
are also available but can be hard to locate on
their site. Click Refurbished

their systems page. By the way, Geeks is known
for their great customer service.

TigerDirect.com - Tiger offers a

brand and generics, as well as peripherals,
barebone systems, and parts. The do-it-yourselfer
in particular will appreciate Tiger's large

Dell
Home & Home Office - Everybody knows
Dell. They have great computers, many at
discounted prices. Still, downgraded by one star
because they don't sell parts.

Gateway - Gateway is
known for their muscle PCs used by gamers. If you
can spare the extra cost of these premium
machines, Gateway is the way to go. Downgraded by
one star because they don't sell parts.

Dell
Business Center - Similar to Dell
Home & Home Office, above, but caters to
businesses. So don't expect as low a price unless
buying in quantity. Shop here if you're looking
for a workstation or server.

PC
Mall - Fair prices on
an enormous selection of PCs, peripherals, and
parts, with a handy search feature that allows
sorting by price, manufacturer, or feature. PC
Mall sells brand new, overstocked, and
refurbished computers and parts.

Overstock.com - Usually a large
selection of PCs to choose from at some of the
best prices, but few parts and peripherals.
Overstock.com sells both surplus and refurbished
PCs. Prices are so low that the newer systems go
fast, so don't delay if you see what you want.
Overstock.com also offers great prices on
electronics, cameras, and more. Downgraded by one
star due to higher-than-average return rates in
recent weeks.

NextDayPC.com - Offers
competitive prices on an absolutely enormous
selection of computers, peripherals, and parts.
(They claim over 70,000 stock items.) Next Day PC
really shines when it comes to custom configured
PCs, which they refer to as SysteMax. Best for
orders over $500 because shipping is free (as of
Summer 2004-- double check to confirm).
